BECOME A DOG TRAINER

BECOME A DOG TRAINER

Course Overview

course

Becoming a dog trainer is not an easy task. It is rooted in life-long learning about dogs, their biology, and the continuing study of dog and human interaction. What is below, along with the two textbooks for this course, “How to Train a Puppy You Can Live With,” and “Fetching the Perfect Dog Trainer” will provide clear and concise guidelines.

However, this course requires 100 hours of facetime interaction with a certified instructor in addition to a capstone project, which is developed mutually between the instructor and the student. Full dedication to this course and a commitment to the human animal bond is the only prerequisite – but it is a demanding prerequisite. Come ready to work, and we will get you through it!

Experience The Benefits

The canine species is one of the most ancient domesticated animals in existence, and as such, their behavior has been studied extensively over the centuries. Becoming a dog trainer means being knowledgeable in competency-based dog training techniques, as well as being able to recognize and understand various canine behaviors. It is important for any aspiring dog trainer to understand the different types of canine behaviors, and the different ways of training them.

This course guide and training manual is a comprehensive guide to becoming a successful dog trainer. It covers the basics of dog training, as well as more advanced techniques for training fearful dogs, nervous dogs, anxious dogs, aggressive dogs, and adopted shelter dogs. It also covers strategies for dealing with difficult clients and setting reasonable expectations. All the techniques outlined in this guide are evidence-based on the latest research in canine behavior.

This course is divided into seven chapters. Chapter I introduces the basics of dog training, and provides an overview of what is involved in becoming a professional dog trainer. Chapter II covers working with fearful dogs, Chapter III covers working with nervous dogs, Chapter IV covers working with anxious dogs, Chapter V covers working with aggressive dogs, and Chapter VI covers working with shelter dogs. Finally, Chapter VII covers strategies for dealing with difficult clients and setting reasonable expectations.
